Water exercise, adult swim lessons (it's NEVER too late) and adapted exercise for those with disabilities or in rehabilitation are some of the water-based activities available at the Y.
Lots of adults learn to swim at the YMCA under the patient and skillful direction of YMCA aquatics professionals. Enjoy learning with others, or one-on-one lessons to work at your own pace. Once you learn to swim, you’ll never feel unsafe around water, and you can enjoy the many physical benefits regular swimming can provide.
We provide Adult Lessons for a full range of swim abilities and comfort levels. Some classes are specifically designed for those with little or no swimming experience addressing such things as beginner breathing techniques, floating, paddling as well as overcoming fears in learning. More advanced classes help develop swim technique and refine strokes, providing a foundation for swimming as ongoing exercise. Private Swim Lessons are available by appointment.
