ABOUT OUR INTEGRATION INITIATIVE
Our Integration Initiative provides opportunities for the young people in our community who have special needs. Through this unique and comprehensive program, we encourage an environment of mutual respect for children with and without disabilities.
SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM
Our Integration Initiative is made possible by community support, especially donations to the Reach Out for Youth and Families Campaign – the primary vehicle in subsidizing the cost of after school and physician intervention programs for children.
A BIT MORE DETAIL ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Senior Director Karen Friedman is optimistic that our Initiative will continue to have lasting impact through expanded integrated teen programs, thus developing an even more powerful force for good in our community. Since 2004, over 700 families have watched their children gain valuable self-esteem, social skills, and countless meaningful and lasting friendships through participating in programs and events like these:
New Horizons Summer Camp
An integrative and inclusive summer camp experience for students of all abilities. This camp provides added support and care through smaller staff ratios in an effort to ensure campers build positive relationships and social skills regardless of their ability.
Unified Sports Teams
From flag football to basketball to golf, our unified sports program is built to cultivate team bonds and a sense of belonging, while simultaneously keeping team members active and healthy.
Springboard
Integrated programs for children of all abilities who need introductory skills in a smaller instructor-to-participant ratio.
Specialty Courses
Customized activities and classes designed to provide kids with the experiences they want paired with the instruction they need.
Legends Ball
Our cornerstone fundraising event, this gala brings Initiative participants together with New England Patriots team legends as well as local celebrities and community activists to celebrate the Initiative and its spirit of inclusion and respect.
