Our Y provides members a safe and convenient place for their children while they are in the facility.
Our Y offers free drop-in child care while mom or dad make use of the Y. Playful, engaging options are plentiful for young children while you exercise or connect with others over shared interests.
Children watch and absorb knowledge, skills and values from everything and everyone around them. At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why our Child Watch program is staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things, and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other.
At Child Watch, babies from the age of 6 weeks develop trust and security and preschoolers experience early learning experiences like story time, crafts and physical activities. School-age kids often visit when our Kids Club is not running and here they enjoy making friends, learning new skills and doing homework.
Child Watch is open every day, with hours posted on our website. Free play is always offered at Child Watch and we also run structured activities like arts & crafts and story time. Be sure to check the Friends & Family Schedule for these free offerings.
Kids Club is a fun place for the school-aged kids who are not yet old enough to be unsupervised when you are working out at the Y. Our staff members keep kids engaged, safe, and active having fun. We post our Kids Club hours on the website and frequently run the program where there is space for games–like the gym, the multipurpose room, or outside.
We also provide a drop-off opportunity for you to take the time needed for doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping, and other local errands without small ones under foot. Our drop-off care is available when you remain within 15 minutes of the YMCA and is offered Monday-Friday, 12-3pm. Follow the same check-in procedures at Child Watch, but ensure we know your cell phone number. This option is available to our Family and Single-Parent members and costs only $5 per child for up to 2 hours.
The maximum time allowed for a child to stay in Child Watch or Kids Club is two hours per day. This is for the safety and well-being of our participants.
Please note, the Child Watch and Kids Club programs are free to our Y’s Family and Single-Parent members but can be used by others for a fee. Please inquire at Member Services.
