Dance cultivates an appreciation for artistry while building coordination and confidence in kids.
We provide dance programs for all levels in a progressive format. Programs run throughout the year in several dance styles, and our Recital Session runs from February through June, ending with a recital performance.

An introduction to dance for our youngest dancers. This parent-child class is structured to stimulate coordination skills, listening skills, balance, music interpretation, creative movement and motor development. *Must be able to walk.
Dance Magic One is a Creative Movement class tailored to our 3-4 year old dancers. This class emphasizes the creative art of dance while providing an exciting new learning environment. Class includes use of props and activities designed to introduce dance and movement. Skills learned and carried beyond the dance classes include communication skills, memory development, and social involvement.
For students who have taken Dance Magic One, mastered basic skills and are ready for a challenge. Students will learn more advanced technique while still enjoying the fun of Creative Movement.
Mini Beats is a Creative Movement class for boys. This class emphasizes the creative art of dance while providing an exciting new learning environment. Class includes use of props and activities designed to introduce dance and movement. Skills learned and carried beyond the dance classes include communication skills, memory development, and social involvement.
Intro to each type of class, these classes teach children the beginning fundamentals of ballet, tap, jazz, and tumbling. Ballet includes barre work, across the floor and center activities. Tap, jazz, and tumbling includes introductory skills, stretching, and technique.
For students who have mastered the basic skills in Intro to Dance One and are ready for a challenge. Builds upon the skills taught in Intro to Dance One.
Students are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre and center floor work, along with across the floor combinations. Classes introduce vocabulary, and classical ballet technique. Advanced classes include adagio and allegro work, and combinations using balance, strength, and style. Ballet is the foundation of all other dance styles.
Tap is a style involving rhythm, dynamics, and varying sounds. Tappers will have a graduated warm-up to loosen their ankles and knees for proper execution of skills, across the floor progressions and have center floor work to learn and perfect new skills.
Jazz classes include such elements as kicks, leaps, turns, splits, and isolations. Classes include stretch and strengthening exercises, floor work, and across the floor progressions in addition to center floor combinations.
Hip Hop classes combine street dance with funk and jazz, similar to what you would see in televised dance performances or music videos. Students will learn the importance of isolations and dynamics to execute pop-and-lock and funk movements.
Acro-teaches strength, flexibility, and tumbling. Each class will include skills from each of the basic movement groups: Splits and Flexibility, Roll Skills, Backbend or Counterbalance Skills, and Handstand or Vertical Balance Skills.
Lyrical dance is very similar to ballet combining the many technical elements of classical ballet with the freedom, fluidty, expressiveness and airier aspects of jazz, contemporary and modern.
1 hour- 25 minute Ballet class, 5 minute transition to a 30 minute gymnastics class
1 hour- 25 minute jazz class, 5 minute transition to a 30 minute gymnastics class
1 hour- 25 minute tap class, 5 minute transition to a 30 minute gymnastics class
75 minutes- 30 minute dance class different style each week (ballet, jazz, hip hop), 15 minute break to get changed for swim followed by a 30 minute swim lesson.
75 minutes -30 minute dance class different style each week (Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop) 15-minute break to get down to a 30-minute sport class, sport changes each week.
1 hour- 30 minute dance class superhero themed followed by craft, games, stories, & dress up, corresponding to the superhero of the week. Examples: Ninja (mask), Jedi Knight (Light Saber), Soldier (flag), Sport theme (basketball/ football), Spiderman, Hulk, Pirate (eye patch), Railroad (train car), Safari (parrot), Outer space (alien eyes)
1 hour- 30-minute dance class princess themed followed by craft, dress up, games, & story corresponding to the princess of the week. Examples: Arielle (Sea Shell), Belle (Rose), Aurora (crown), Cinderella (Slipper), Snow White (Mirror), Rapunzel (Comb), Jasmine (Magic Lamp), Tiana (Frog), Pocahontas (Head Piece), Alice in Wonderland (bookmark)
Private dance lessons for children and adults who wish to intensify their study of dance.
The Foxboro Dance Team is designed for students who are looking to further their dance education. Team students will learn a variety of dance forms including: Jazz, Tap, Ballet, and Lyrical. Students will perform at YMCA events, including the Spring recital, and will attend at least one competition throughout the season. Individuals must try out and be invited onto the dance team.
Choose any theme or dance style you would like: from ballet to High School Musical, hip hop to Hannah Montana and we’ll make it happen. Partygoers will spend time in our dance studio warming up, and practicing a dance routine. They then move to our party room for cake and refreshments (provided by the parents), presents, and the rest of the party. Contact us to book your birthday party today.
Dance camps take place throughout the summer in our Day Camp program and School Break Camp programs during December, February, and April vacation weeks.
